Resumo

A formação e o treinamento dos farmacêuticos clínicos modernos têm sido orientados pelas recomendações do documento “Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of the Pharmacy Professional Program” lançadas pela Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) norte-americana.

Abstract

The education and training of modern clinical pharmacists has been guided by the recommendations of the document “Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of the Pharmacy Professional Program” released by the Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) in the United States. In Brazil, these guidelines were included in the so-called "National Curriculum Guidelines" (DCNs) which, in turn, have promoted curricular changes in the career of clinical pharmacists. The core of this curricular reformulation is the urgency to incorporate disciplines, courses or activities that enable the humanistic training of future professionals. However, despite these regulatory impulses, academic publications in the field of pharmaceutical education between the years 2010-2020 still show a timid implementation of disciplines or permanent courses that meet the training recommended by the DCNs. Objective: Given this scenario, this research aimed to describe, analyze and evaluate a humanistic training course, called "Laboratory of Reading", which was carried out with a group of pharmacists who attended the residency in Pharmacy offered by the Department of Pharmacy of the Hospital de Clinicas de São Paulo. Methods: The entire dynamics of the “Reading Laboratory” was developed by a coordinator who mediated a total of 24 round-table sessions using five fiction literature books as a teaching resource. The empirical data of the experience were the field diary, the recordings of the meetings, the final reports and the Oral History interviews with the participants. After all the textualization of the data, a descriptiveinterpretative analysis was carried out, articulated with theoretical references in the area of health education, pharmacy education, philosophy and literature. This study was designed and conducted based on methodological references in the area of qualitative research in health and in the area of health education. Thus, an epistemological-analytical approach was chosen based on the references of phenomenology-hermeneutics. Results: The results of this thesis are presented in four articles. An article reviewing the literature, or state of the art on the subject, and another three that illustrate the results of the different analyzes of the Reading Laboratory cycles. The first article shows an analysis perspective from the themes of critical-reflexive thinking and communicative skills. The second article focuses on an analysis focused on the benefit of LabLei in promoting affective skills. Finally, a last article shows the results from the theme of empathy. Conclusion: As a main conclusion, it is highlighted that the dynamics of LabLei promoted a space for debate and exchange of opinions where ethical issues were addressed that contributed to the development of skills dear to the profession. In this sense, LabLei contributed to train residents following the premises of the residency program in Pharmacy and fostering critical thinking in this group of students. It can be said that this work has provided results that contribute to the dialogue with other studies in the area regarding the use of the humanities - especially Literature - as an auspicious tool in this area.
