The present work aimed to study the Laboratory of Humanities from the Centre for History and Philosophy in the Health Sciences (CeHFi), at the Paulista School of Medicine (EPM), Federal University of Sao Paulo (Unifesp), which is structured not only as a teaching activity (both at undergraduate and graduate levels), but also as part of academic research projects and university extension programs. Our objective was to analyse how such educational activity, grounded on the aesthetic and reflective experience promoted by classic literature readings, acts and impacts on Health Sciences students and professionals within the health sciences academic milieu. Therefore, based essentially on a qualitative methodological approach, through participant observation and participants’ life oral history approaches, this study sought to assess and understand how an activity-based reflective opportunity provided by the Humanities can be proposed as a way for humanising the field of the Health Sciences and Health Care.
